Being an Internet Marketer I get emails and occasional calls multiple times a week recommending I buy another Internet Marketing service. And I though maybe I was special but it turns out small business owners are solicited by Internet Marketing services as much as I am. In a study done by BrightLocal.com we can see over half of all owners are hit up weekly.
Surprisingly even Google gets these spam emails too:
I visited your website and noticed that you are not listed in most of the major search engines and directories…”
Google’s put out a great resource on how to pick an SEO agency. See the “Be wary of SEO firms and web consultants or agencies that send you email out of the blue.” sections for the above example. Also checkout the great questions you should ask when choosing and provider.
My recommendations bad marketers is to stop it. You are better than cold calls and spam emails. Just focus more on keeping customers by actually helping the customers increase their business. And to business owners a guarantee isn’t enough to undo the effects bad SEO and have on your business. Care enough to do a little more digging before you pay the lowest cost provider.
